LABOR Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma (center) oversees the repacking of relief goods at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) National Resource Operations Center in Pasay City, where beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment's (DoLE) Tulong Panghanapbuhay for Displaced Workers (Tupad) program assist with the relief operations for the benefit of typhoon Kristine victims.
DoLE's Tupad program provides emergency employment for displaced workers for 10 to 30 days, depending on the nature of the work.
Tupad beneficiaries contribute to various community development projects, including cleanup drives, community-based farming initiatives, planting of disaster-resilient crops, and relief goods repacking, among others.
