With his timeless and versatile sound, Josh isn't one to confine himself to one genre, affirming, "I wouldn't stick to any genres. I believe those genres are meant to have these songs categorized, but we don't need to set boundaries when it comes to music and art." Since beginning his solo career, the artist shared that he primarily aims to discover his identity, exploring where it could lead him and whether he could push boundaries with his music.

Discussing his overall concept and intention for his album "Lost & Found," he disclosed that he initially planned an EP release until they opted to create an album about his story instead. Specifically, the album features nine tracks that deal with human resilience in the face of the demanding reality. Besides, he also mentioned that narrating his story makes sense as it's uniquely authentic to him as an artist.

Moreover, Josh revealed that the first track, "1999," was the song that completed the album, adding that it was also where the storyline started. On top of that, he shared that the upbeat composition was deeply personal to him, recounting how the mannerisms he mentioned in his lyrics were coping mechanisms that stemmed from his anxiety and trauma.

"I wanted to show that anxiety is actually normal, but you need to pay attention to it," the singer added.

Apart from this, the musician also disclosed that the lines were initially in English until he concluded that changing it to Filipino would enable him to connect to his audience better.

Another track from the album, "Lights Out (feat. Alamat Mo)," is a sultry collaborative track depicting the physical and emotional intimacies in a relationship. Josh was all praises for Alamat Mo, who he's been in contact with for a while, sharing how impressed he was with the collaborator.

Additionally, after exchanging demos in just one night, the duo assembled the track, adding, "I was surprised because the lyrics and how he actually made the flow was chef's kiss." In line with this, the soloist values a collaborator who presents ideas that match his vision for a song, among other qualities.

Josh regards music as a form of therapy.

On another note, the musician selected his song "1999" as the song he would perform if given the chance to perform only one song on the grandest stage. He particularly noted how the song is an anthem for him, as its uplifting sound drives the listeners to dance and revel in the moment. Recently, the songs Josh has on repeat are his original songs, as he claimed that he's been cherishing his music. Besides this, he also listens to his fellow OPM artists, Zack Tabudlo and Dionela's songs.

Further sharing his perspective as a songwriter, the soloist prioritizes authenticity when writing music. Likewise, he regards music as a form of therapy, "This is my outlet in terms of telling my stories that I can't tell in real life." Essentially, when asked what he wishes people knew more about him, is how he has a distinct and strategic mindset that can be revolutionary in the future.

When asked about a piece of noteworthy advice for artists, he cited Rick Rubin's quote, "In terms of priority, inspiration comes first, you come next, the audience comes last."

Furthermore, Josh stated, "You should give more importance to your craft, more than anyone else," emphasizing the importance of believing in your capabilities above all.

The musician has impressively released multiple successful projects and recently held his first solo concert last September 28 at the New Frontier Theater.

The singer-songwriter announced, "I had my own concert last September 28, and of course, I have my group SB19. I also recorded at least five song collaborations."

Ultimately, fans can look forward to the singer's activities as he also revealed that aside from the collaborative tracks from the album, the songs he mentioned are all brand new.
