By Manila Times - 7 hours ago

Indie band Garachong is set to take center stage at Gigmusic Hall along Tagaytay Road in Silang, Cavite, on October 26 at 6 p.m. as the front act for the iconic OPM band Freestyle.

Known for their appeal to "all sorts of crowds," Garachong comprises 11 passionate young artists, all high school graduates of La Salle Greenhills and former members of the school's celebrated singing group, Kundirana.

The lineup includes vocalists Adrian Albite, Patrick Faraon, Sean Mapalad, Geoffrey Naguit, and Jio Ponce, with instrumentalists Kal Jacobe on keyboard Pierre Diasanta on guitar, Joaquin Velasco on guitar, Zeke Tolentino on guitar, Zachary Evangelista on bass and Ram Mauricio on drums.

Garachong won 2nd runner-up at the popular "Battle of the Bands 2024: Tinig ng Pagkakaisa" held during De La Salle University's University Vision-Mission Week last June.

They have also performed at notable events, such as the "Ika-232 Taong Pagdiriwang ng Kapistahan ng La Purisima Concepcion" during the Santa Maria Fiesta 2024, held at the Santa Maria Patio Basketball Court last February, and at the 81st birthday celebration of Santa Maria, Bulacan Mayor Omeng Ramos on August 23.

These former Kundirana members are happy to continue performing together in gigs, keeping their friendships and musical bonds as tight as ever despite now attending college in different schools.
