THE Marcos administration has expanded its roster of public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the pipeline, with the total now at 173 projects valued at P3.17 trillion.
This reflects a net addition of nine projects since the PPP Center's last report in July, which listed 164 projects worth a total of P3.24 trillion.
The increase was due to new unsolicited proposals, updates, and submissions from implementing agencies, with 23 new projects added and 12 removed from the pipeline.
Among the notable additions are national projects like the Food and Drug License and Clearance System, expected to cost P160 million, the Combined 17-MW (megawatt) Upper and 8MW Lower Sampaloc Hydroelectric Power Project valued at P7.21 billion and the P29.82-billion Air Navigation Services modernization project.
Several local projects have also been added, including the Pampanga Dialysis Centers Operations and Maintenance project, an unsolicited initiative valued at P730 million, and the Iloilo Bulk Water Supply project worth P8.45 billion.
In terms of modernization, the Santiago City Hemodialysis Center is also under procurement, valued at P360 million.
Additionally, initiatives such as the P320-million PRA Digitalization Project and the Dasmariñas City Digitalized Traffic Enforcement System worth P23 million are moving forward.
There is also the Marinduque Decarbonization Project, worth P4.24 billion and said to represent the government's commitment to sustainability.
The 12 projects delisted, meanwhile, include the P94.07-billion Metro Cebu Expressway and Pangasinan-Nueva Ecija Expressway, which were previously under the Department of Public Works and Highways. These were removed after consultations with the relevant implementing agencies.
Also among the removals are the Smart City ICT Project in New Clark City, initially valued at P20 million, and the Mindoro-Batangas Super Bridge, a proposed major inter-island connection. The delistings were attributed to various reasons, including coordination with implementing agencies and project cancellations.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority Central System Project, awarded and signed in September 2024, has now moved to the implementation phase with an estimated cost of P250 million.
Similarly, the La Mesa Parkways Project, now known as the North Luzon East Expressway, has advanced to the implementation phase with an upgraded project cost of P15.1 billion.
