No storm in sight in PH in coming days

By Manila Times - 2 months ago

MANILA, Philippines—The easterlies and the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring isolated or scattered rains, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

Weather specialist Grace Castañeda said the two weather systems are affecting most parts of the archipelago.

The ITCZ - an imaginary line where the winds from the southern and northern hemispheres meet - would prevail Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan where overcast skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms would be likely, she said.

The easterlies - winds coming from the east that pass through the Pacific Ocean and carry humid and warm weather – will bring isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon, Castañeda said.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
