(UPDATE) FORMER Batang Gilas co-captain Migs Pascual has been a steady presence for the San Sebastian Stags this season and is drawing much attention because of his efficient, unorthodox style of shooting.

His tear drop shots from beyond the arc, which he has been making consistently, is beginning to catch the fancy of everyone in the NCAA Season 100.

"Those types of shots, you've been only making it consistently through constant repetition," said veteran sportscaster Martin Antonio, who covers the regular games of the country's oldest basketball tournament.

But it's not just Pascual's long floaters which caught the defense off guard a lot of times.

As a scoring option, Pascual has been attracting defense from the opposition, but the player's solid playmaking skills and uncanny ability to locate open teammates and make them look good, even made him a triple threat.

"That would certainly make Pascual appreciated more by San Sebastian. Even though we know he's licensed to shoot, he makes those extra passes to his teammates and it's such a joy to watch."

Pascual's leadership was also clearly felt even though he just saw action this year for the Stags after sitting out last season.

While patiently waiting to become eligible to play, he continuously worked on with his game during the preseason and even though he was slowed down by a plantar fasciitis injury prior to the start of Season 100, there was no slowing down the young man.

The injury barely had any effect on his game as he continued to flourish game by game, either by providing the buckets or serving as facilitator.

"Now, he knows how to read his teammates," added Antonio.
