Amit settles for 3rd in China Open
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino cue artist Rubilen Amit on Sunday took home third place at the 2024 WPA 9-Ball China Open in Shanghai. She settled for the third place finish, following a loss in the semifinals to China's Han Yu, 9-3. Han would eventually defend her championship, after defeating fellow countryman Wang Xiaotong 9-8 and won $36,000 for the victory. Amit would take home a third place trophy, along with a $9,000 cash prize, alongside Taiwan's Chou Chieh-Yu. Before meeting Han, Amit defeated Bojana Sarac of Serbia, Silviana Lu of Indonesia, Jasmin Ouschan of Austria and Chihiro Kawahara of Japan in earlier rounds.
