By Manila Times - yesterday
CAMP GEN. FRANCISCO MACABULOS, Tarlac City — The Tarlac Police Provincial Office (TPPO) was hailed as the best police provincial office in Region 3 (Central Luzon) for the month of July, its sixth monthly recognition this year. Provincial director Col. Miguel Guzman said the recognition is a testament to the dedication of the men and women of the TPPO in keeping the peace and order in the province of Tarlac. He also lauded his team for winning the award for five consecutive months from January to May this year. Guzman also highlighted TPPO's outstanding achievements as it bagged three awards in the 29th Police Community Relations month celebration on July 30 at Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. The office was honored with the following awards: Most Outstanding Provincial Community Affairs and Development Unit; Outstanding Provincial Community Affairs and Development Junior Police Commissioned Officer; and Outstanding Provincial Community Affairs and Development Senior Police Commissioned Officer for the provincial director himself. "These awards can be attributed to several factors, which include the collaboration of the office with the community. The community's trust is a very important factor to ensure that there is vigilance and participation in stopping crime in the area," he said. Tarlac's crime rate has dropped this year, making it a safe place to live and visit. "The community's involvement in crime prevention and the increased police visibility have played crucial roles in this improvement," Guzman said. About 2,869 crime incidents were registered from January to August 31 this year, which is slightly lower compared to the same period in 2023 were 2,981 crime occurrences were registered. This represents a drop of 112 incidents or 3.76 percent. Guzman said the majority of the incidents this year have been solved. The information on crime incidents that the community provides is extremely crucial in the prompt investigation of the case and the arrest of sought offenders, Guzman said. "Such a feat is dedicated to the community because of their active participation and engagement to the personnel of Tarlac Police Provincial Office. The community's dedication to collaborating with us and supporting us in our efforts to prosecute criminals is what allows the men and women of TPPO to do their jobs effectively and efficiently," he said. "We are quite grateful to the community in Tarlac for their unwavering support to the police, and we also congratulate them for it. The Tarlac Police will never stop working toward a peaceful community where people can live, work and conduct business. We will never give up on fighting crime."
