12 outstanding Bulakenyos recognized
CITY OF MALOLOS — Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Tengco was one of the 12 Most Outstanding Bulakenyos given recognition by the provincial government of Bulacan through the Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2024 here at The Pavilion Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center on Sunday. Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis Castro led the awarding of recognition to the "Natatanging Bulakenyo," the highest award given to a Bulakenyo, conferred by the Provincial Government of Bulacan to the individual who excels in any of the award categories with an outstanding contribution to the society. Fernando said the Dangal ng Lipi is a tribute to the true-blooded Bulakenyo who has shown exceptional skill, courage and achievement not only in Bulacan but also in the entire country. "It's a night of awards for the true inspirations of our society," the governor said. The award categories include public service, professional, community service, entrepreneur, education, science and technology, arts and culture, trade and industry, health, agriculture, and expatriates. Tengco, who is from the City of Malolos, was cited in the field of public service. The other awardees include Dr. Herman Roy Cruz for agriculture; Prof. Ernesto Cordero for the expatriate; Prof. Felicidad Perena for education; Jocelyn Reyes for entrepreneur; Dr. Nathaniel Servando for science and technology; Conrado Onglao for trade and industry; Dr. Juanito Javier for health; Claro Cristobal and Mario Lipana for professionals; Edgardo Santiago for arts and culture; and Atty. Florentino Manalastas for community service. Tengco said he was honored to accept the award and ensured that the province of Bulacan could count on him and assured of his support in any way he could help Fernando's administration. Fernando thanked the awardees for their invaluable contribution to the community and country. Castro said the legacy of a new batch of Bulakenyo heroes has been engraved in the history of Bulacan because of their important contributions to the town and community as exemplary citizens who serve as instruments to achieve the good of the majority.
