Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos honored in Supreme Court ceremony

THE 2024 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos were honored in a ceremony at the Supreme Court in Manila on September 9, marking the first time in the foundation's history that its awardees were recognized by the country's highest court. The event was attended by members of the Supreme Court. They were led by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, Senior Associate Justice Marvic Leonen, and Associate Justices Ramon Paul Hernando, Amy Lazaro-Javier, Rodil Zalameda, Samuel Gaerlan, Ricardo Rosario, Jhosep Lopez, Japar Dimaampao and Jose Midas Marquez. They were joined by Metrobank Foundation Inc. (MBFI) President Aniceto Sobrepeña, MBFI Executive Vice President Philip Francisco Dy and Metrobank Chief Legal Counsel Regis Puno. This year, Associate Justice Maria Filomena Singh served as co-chairman of the Final Board of Judges. Chief Justice Gesmundo, co-chairman of the 2019 Final Board of Judges, praised the rigorous selection process and commended this year's awardees for their contributions to education, peace, security and public service. Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto Sobrepeña expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for hosting the event, which celebrated Filipino exemplars in the academe, military and police sectors. The 2024 awardees included four outstanding teachers, three soldiers and three police officers. Each honoree received P1 million, a golden medallion and The Flame trophy during a conferment ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Manila on September 4, 2024, as part of Metrobank's 62nd anniversary.
