MANILA, Philippines - The six-member Philippine Paralympic team returned home from Paris, just days after the closing ceremonies at the Stade de France. On its Facebook page, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) showed photos of the team at terminal 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport along with Philippine Paralympic Committee chief Michael Barredo. All six athletes, para swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom, wheelchair racer Jerrold Mangliwan, para archer Agustina Bantiloc, para taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin and sitting javelin thrower Cendy Asusano arrived together with Paralympic officials. "Our Paralympians are now back in the country after their memorable stint in the 17th Paralympic Games held in Paris, France," the PSC said. "Agustina, Allain, Jerrold, Ernie, Angel, at Cendy, ipinagmamalaki namin kayo!" Despite not taking home a medal at the Paralympic Games, Asusano was the country's best performer at the Games, finishing a place shy of the podium in 4th place, with a new personal best. The six are expected at Malacañang Palace on Thursday, with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. welcoming them.
