By Manila Times - 3 months ago
THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) held a charity summit on September 5, aiming to enhance cooperation among stakeholders and improve charity services across the country. PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles highlighted the summit's importance and outlined four key goals: building a strong network to assist the most vulnerable, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, identifying opportunities for innovation and improving charity programs. Participants discussed challenges and strategies to advance charitable initiatives, focusing on making a difference in the lives of the poor. Robles emphasized the opportunity to foster collaboration and strengthen the charitable sector, echoing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s call for unity. Held at the Manila Hotel, the event also marked the start of activities celebrating PCSO's 90th anniversary, which aligned with the National Day of Charity on October 30. The summit, themed "Building bridges through partnership and cooperation with charitable Institutions," brought together around 200 participants in a hybrid format.
