THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Bulacan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) inaugurated a dialysis center as part of its initiative to expand health care facilities and enhance medical service delivery in Barangay Pulong Buhangin in Santa Maria, Bulacan.
District engineer George Santos of the DPWH–Bulacan 2nd DEO said that the inauguration was held on August 22, with Bulacan 6th District Rep. Salvador Pleyto serving as guest of honor and speaker.
Equipped with advanced dialysis machines, spacious patient lounges, a water treatment room, business and doctor's offices, a supply and storage room, and restroom facilities, this treatment center on a 336-square-meter lot is now ready to provide high-quality care to residents and nearby municipalities.
The construction of the one-story structure had a budget of P19.57 million, according to Santos.
"This center will be a vital resource for our community, particularly for those requiring regular dialysis treatment. It also stands as a testament to the successful partnership between the local government and the DPWH, showcasing our collective achievements in advancing public health delivery," Santos remarked.
Representative Pleyto noted that this health care facility will offer much-needed relief to residents who no longer have to travel long distances for treatment.
AnaKalusugan Partylist Rep. Ray Reyes, Municipal Mayor Bartolome Ramos, Vice Mayor Pablo Juan, assistant district engineer Edwin Abengaña, and other local government officials and DPWH personnel also attended the turnover ceremony.
