Alas falls anew to Indonesia in Men's SEA V.League

MANILA, Philippines — Alas Pilipinas yielded to Indonesia once more in its opening match at the Men's SEA V.League leg 2 in Indonesia, 24-26, 11-25, 15-25, at the UNY Sport Complex in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on Friday evening, August 23

The Philippine team first fell to Indonesia in the first leg, 25-23, 19-25, 11-25, 21-25, on August 17 in Manila, where the Filipinos claimed a bronze medal and the Indonesians took home silver.

Despite the absence of team captain and ace Bryan Bagunas due to an injury he sustained in the first leg, Alas managed to keep in step with the home team, only losing by two points in the first set.

The Filipinos could not sustain its fight, though, having been hammered by the Indonesians in the final two frames.

Alas tries to barge into the winning column as it faces leg 1 champion Thailand on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Philippine team then wraps up its campaign against Vietnam on Sunday at 4 p.m.
