Bong Go vows support to vulnerable communities

By Manila Times - 3 months ago

DURING an outreach program in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on Monday, Sen. Bong Go emphasized the importance of government-supported livelihood initiatives to help Filipinos recover from the ongoing economic challenges.

As a staunch advocate for the welfare of Filipinos, particularly those in the provinces, Go expressed his deep connection to the province and reiterated his commitment to supporting its constituents during these trying times.

"Don't thank me. I should be the one to thank all of you for the opportunity you gave me to serve. I will continue to work for the Filipino, especially for our countrymen in need," said Go, an adopted son of Nueva Ecija.

Go's Malasakit Team also attended to the needs of the city's displaced workers and vulnerable sectors at the City Hall Covered Court.

Go also took the opportunity to thank local officials, particularly Mayor Myca Elizabeth Vergara, for their continued efforts to serve the community.

He urged for more vital collaboration between the government and local stakeholders to uplift the people's lives.

During the event, Go's Malasakit Team distributed essential items such as snacks, shirts, basketballs, volleyballs, masks, and vitamins to 531 displaced workers. In addition, selected individuals received shoes and a mobile phone.

The Department of Labor and Employment was also present, conducting an orientation under its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers program, benefiting eligible recipients with temporary employment opportunities.
