PRA, BCA enhances healthcare accessibility for foreign retirees

By Manila Times - 3 months ago

BRIGHTCARE Assist Philippines Inc. (BCA) and the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) have signed a landmark memorandum of agreement (MoA) to make healthcare more accessible for foreign retirees in the Philippines. The partnership aims to facilitate the use of international health insurance for essential medical services, including auxiliary services such as medical transportation, across healthcare facilities in the country.

As part of the partnership, foreign retirees can now receive assistance in using their health insurance, provided their plans cover the necessary services.

The Department of Tourism has been actively promoting the Philippines as a prime retirement destination through the Special Resident Retiree's Visa (SRRV) program. This visa allows foreign nationals to retire or invest in the Philippines under a special non-immigrant status, making the country an attractive option for retirement and investment.

Globally, the retirement market is experiencing significant growth as more individuals seek destinations that offer a high quality of life, affordable healthcare, and favorable immigration policies. The Philippines is increasingly seen as a viable option, combining these factors with a rich cultural heritage and welcoming environment.
