Indulge in some veggie goodness as Shake Shack marks the debut of its much-anticipated Veggie Shack.
This limited-time offering brings together a delicious blend of mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa in a savory patty that promises to delight both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.
Born out of their Innovation Kitchen in New York City, the Veggie Shack is made from a proprietary blend of real garden vegetables, seared to perfection with American cheese, pickles, crispy onions and ShackSauce all on a toasted non-GMO potato bun.
Available for a limited time only, the Veggie Shack is packed with mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa. The Veggie Shack, priced at P400, is proof that the finest veggie burgers come from the garden to the grill, created by chefs using real vegetables. That's 11 vegetables — Portobello mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, sweet potato, carrot, celery, leek, roasted red onion, roasted garlic, cabbage, beet, and chives — smashed and packed and powered by whole ingredients like sunflower seeds, miso, farro, and quinoa.
Kate Villasenor, marketing director of Shake Shack Philippines, emphasized in a media launch the effort and care that went into creating the Veggie Shack.
"Our culinary team has taken a lot of time to develop the Veggie Shack. It actually took five years to develop," Villasenor said.
"It was launched back in the US in 2018 and went through several iterations. It's currently a permanent item in the US and also in the UK," she continued.
Villasenor also addressed the question on many minds: Is the Veggie Shack vegan?
"Partly yes and partly no. The patty itself is vegan, but the rest is not. If you want it to be a vegan type of burger or sandwich, we recommend going for the lettuce wrap and having the bun removed," she explained.
The Veggie Shack is designed to be crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, making it a perfect pairing with Shake Shack's Fresh Lemonade, Fifty/Fifty (half lemonade, half organic brewed iced tea), or even an ice-cold bottle of ShackMeister Ale for those who prefer an alcoholic beverage.
Meanwhile, in celebration of the Veggie Shack's arrival, Shake Shack has planned a series of "Shack-tivities" to engage the community. Among these is the SHK x 808 Originals Dance Class, set for September 7 at 808 Studios in The Podium. This 75-minute session will allow participants to discover the joy of dance while learning the fundamentals. The event is limited to 30 spots, and each ticket, priced at P1,500, includes access to the dance class, a Veggie Shack Meal, and a free Shack Swag.
