Cecile Labra recently celebrated her birthday with an intimate lunch alongside the "Beautiful Soul Sisters" — a group of friends that includes Cecile, Fortune Ledesma, Virginia Lane, Rosalind Wee, Irene Wicklein, Mav Rufino, Elsa Kapunan, and this writer. It was a wonderful opportunity for the BSS (as we fondly call each other) to come together and celebrate.

The gathering took place at Romulo Café in BGC, a restaurant partly owned by Cecile's sister, the renowned interior designer Ivy Almario. The ladies enjoyed a delicious array of Filipino dishes that perfectly complemented the café's relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Cecile, looking effortlessly fabulous and elegant, was celebrated with genuine warmth and affection. Her friends took time out of their busy schedules to honor this remarkable woman, making the lunch a heartfelt tribute to her special day.

Meanwhile, Celine Saldana Bautista, a civic leader and entrepreneur, organized a Supremes joint birthday lunch with co-celebrants Senator Cynthia Villar, Celine Bautista, and Marivel Carandang at the height of a very strong typhoon in Metro Manila. Unfortunately, celebrants who were unable to attend included Annabelle Adriano, Carmen Afzelius, Myrasol Juan, Lani Miyaki, and Liza Quirolgico.

Despite the nonstop heavy rain, 50 guests managed to arrive at Escolta in the Peninsula Hotel. Celine decided to treat everyone, making it a very enjoyable event, with raffle prizes donated by Helen Massab.

The next day, Senator Cynthia Villar was given a birthday present by the Catholic Women's Club at Brittany in BGC, Taguig.

Last night, we attended the victory/welcome party for Team Philippines, who had competed in the Paris Olympics 2024. Heading the delegation was Carlos Yulo, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics.

Before arriving at the Hilton, they paid a courtesy call to President BBM at Malacañang, where they were given their rewards. After dinner, they proceeded to the Hilton Hotel, where a party was hosted by Kevin Tan of Newport Resort. They were met by a group of media people who had a great time taking photos with the Olympians.
