US producer inflation cooler than expected in July

US wholesale prices rose less than expected last month as services costs fell, according to government data published Tuesday. The producer price index (PPI) rose by 0.1 percent in July, down slightly from a 0.2 rise in June, the Labor Department said in a statement.
