PH golfer Dottie Ardina laments lack of gear in Paris Olympics

By Manila Times - a month ago

MANILA, Philippines — While being the final competitors for the Philippines for the Paris Olympics, golfers Bianca Pagdanganan and Dottie Ardina seemed to have lacked the uniform to compete at the Games' golf events.

Ardina, in particular, posted a video of sticking a Philippine flag to a t-shirt she bought before competing.

"Sana all may uniform... Kailangan ko pang bumili ng t-shirt," she said in the video. "Jusko, anong klaseng Olympics ito?"

Ardina also asked where their uniforms went, especially that the two golfers are the last ones taking part in the Games.

Pagdanganan was also seen with a Philippine flag that was just attached on her shirt for the competition.

National Golf Association of the Philippines secretary general Bones Floro later apologized for the lack of uniforms and said these didn't make it to France on time.

"Sorry about the uniforms... Our uniforms were stuck in customs; they weren't going to be released here in France and we had to make due with what we can. Hopefully, you guys can focus on their games and support us. Thank you," he said.

With weightlifter Vanessa Sarno crashing out of the tournament on Friday, the golfer pair are the last two Philippine medal hopefuls as the Games draw to a close on Sunday (Monday, Philippine time). ARIC JOHN SY CUA
