FORMER Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) president Henry Lim Bon Liong died on Friday.
Lim was only 72, having died only a month short of his 73rd birthday.
At the time of his death, he was the chairman of the Sterling Paper Group of Companies.
"It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Chairman and CEO (chief executive officer), Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong, who departed peacefully on Aug. 2, 2024," Sterling said in a statement on Saturday.
"Sir Henry or Sir HL, as we fondly called him, was a visionary whose lifework was dedicated to the growth and success of the companies under the Sterling Paper Group of Companies," they added.
The company extended their condolences to Lim's family and loved ones as they mourn the loss of their "esteemed leader."
"Thank you sir Henry. We will never forget the love and care that you have generously shared with us, your employees. You will always be in our hearts and prayers," they stated.
Lim was also the president of the FFCCCII from 2019 to 2021. Under his leadership, the organization had many achievements.
His remains lie in state at Sanctuarium at Araneta Avenue in Quezon City from August 5 to 11, with cremation scheduled on August 12.
