Gastronomic treats to indulge in this August

City of Dreams Manila's signature restaurants highlight seasonal specialties this August, enticing food aficionados to indulge in cuisines consisting of new-style Japanese, Malaysian, Cantonese, and other regional Chinese specialties.

@Nobu Manila. The Manila outpost of the globally renowned restaurant of celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa keeps dinner experiences distinct and exciting as its Omakase tasting menu evolves quarterly, inviting diners to delve deeper into the world of Nobu.

From now until September, enjoy a seven-course dinner starting with the chef's choice of zensai (appetizer). The menu includes Ika (squid) with capsicum jelly caviar and crispy onion, Salmon with calamansi salsa and crispy shiitake mushrooms, and Assorted Sushi with Shrimp Ball Soup. Delight in White Fish Tataki Salad, Pan-seared Sea Bass with charred pechay and gin-an ginger sauce, and Wagyu Striploin with red miso risotto. Finish with Vanilla Cheesecake Mousse with mango gelee and mixed berry sorbet.

For pre-dinner drinks, Nobu Manila's bar offers handcrafted cocktails, signature sake, wine, beer, liquor, and mocktails.

@Crystal Dragon. From August 12 to 31, "A Feast of Canton" reigns at Crystal Dragon in Nüwa Manila. A themed a la carte menu of select Cantonese specialties consists of Deep-fried Seafood and Wild Mushroom stuffed in golden crab shell; Sea Cucumber Dumpling and Morel in fresh ginger broth; Crispy Stuffed Pork (suckling pig) with prawn paste and topped with Atlantic salmon caviar; Steamed Live Grouper cooked "Qi Lin" Style; and Braised Fragrant Rice with assorted seafood, crab meat, and crispy dried scallop. The seasonal menu also features a dessert of Chilled Honeydew Coconut Cream with pearl sago and lychee popping boba.

Red Ginger's Mee Goreng

@Red Ginger. The rich flavors of Malaysian cuisine take centerstage at City of Dreams Manila's Southeast Asian bistro and bar with "Makan Makan" promotion running until end of August.

Translated in Malay Archipelago as "let's go eat," the Makan Makan features dishes inspired by the rich culinary traditions of Malaysia, including Bak Kut Teh, Mee Goreng, Chicken Satay with Nasi Impit, and Claypot Chicken Rice. For dessert, the menu offers Assorted Kuih, a colorful plate of Malaysian confections served with vanilla ice cream and coconut sauce.

@Jing Ting. The integrated resort's restaurant specializing in Northern Chinese cuisine highlights "Old Peking Specials" until August 31. The seasonal a la carte menu includes Chilled Homemade Gluten Rolls with black fungus and chili vinegar; Stir-fried Northern-style Bone-in Pork Ribs; Peking "Jianbing" or Chinese crepes. Tossed Spicy Rice Noodles with minced beef and vegetables and Chinese-style Spaetzle with vegetable and shrimp in vermicelli soup complete the menu.
