Boxer Nesthy Petecio of the Philippines advanced to the quarterfinal round at the Paris Olympics women's 57kg class after scoring a 4-1 win against Amina Zidani of host France in the round of 16 at the North Paris Arena early Saturday, August 3 (Manila time).

Three judges scored the match 29-28 and another had it at 30-27 for Petecio while one judge gave the match to the third seed Zidani at 29-28,One more win by Petecio, who won the silver in the Tokyo, would assure her of another medal finish in the Olympics.
