By Manila Times - 2 months ago

Sun Life brand ambassadors Piolo Pascual, Matteo Guidicelli, and Sarah Geronimo backed up the financial company's initiative to launch the new game "Play for Life: A Game of Choices" that aims to make financial education fun.

The star-studded media launch held at Conrad Manila also saw the celebrity trio sharing their insights about how important it is to make informed decisions for a brighter future.

Play for Life — now live on the Sun Life website — is a free, single-player game allows Filipinos to experience real-life financial scenarios through engaging gameplay.

Pascual and husband-and-wife Guidicelli and Geronimo demonstrated the game during the event and shared their thoughts after.

"It's a good way to get engaged and of course. With this game, you'll see the available strategies which depends on how practical and how aggressive you are," Pascual said.

"It's so great for Sun Life to come up with this new approach in advocating financial literacy and financial planning. For some of us, including myself, it can get overwhelming and intimidating. So in doing this game, they made everything more engaging and fun. It felt like a simulation in managing your finances," Geronimo sai.d

Guidicelli agreed and added, "The game made me realize the importance of having an emergency fund. Like what Sarah said, it simulates and give you a better understanding of the different choices you have in life and the emergencies that can affect that."

As players make crucial financial decisions to achieve their chosen life goals, they have fun while learning valuable lessons along the way. A multi-player version of Play for Life: A Game of Choices is also set to launch soon.

"Play for Life marks a significant step forward in Sun Life's goal to make financial literacy fun and accessible for all Filipinos," said Carla Gonzalez-Chong, Chief Client Experience and Marketing Officer of Sun Life Philippines.

"Play for Life aims to equip Filipinos with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial choices and achieve their life goals," the executive added.

Soon, Filipinos all over the country will be able to play the tabletop boardgame version of Play for Life: A Game of Choices as it will be available in all Sun Life branches nationwide.

There's also a version specifically designed for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), business owners, and professionals. These interactive games offer a fun and social way to learn financial literacy concepts tailored to their unique needs.

For a more immersive experience, there will be a roving life-size version of Play for Life in select areas around the country.
