Angara assumes post as Education chief

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte turned over the reins of the Department of Education to former senator Juan Edgardo Angara, a day before her resignation.

Duterte's resignation takes effect on July 19, 2024.

Before the turnover, Duterte, alongside outgoing undersecretary Michael Wesley Poa and assistant secretary Reynold Munsayac, toured Angara around the DepEd office and held their first meeting.

Angara was appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on July 2.
