(UPDATES) POLICE authorities on Friday seized 200 grams of illegal drugs worth P10 million and arrested two alleged drug suspects in Pasay City.
Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) Director General Eleazar Matta said the antidrug operations also resulted in the dismantling of a major drug syndicate operating in 5 Promise Land, Barangay 201, Pasay City at about 2:30 a.m.
Matta withheld the identities of the suspects — ages 23 and 29 — so as not to compromise ongoing follow-up operations.
Seized during the operations were a stash of illegal drugs, other illicit materials, one thousand peso bill marked money, two Android phones, a Glock pistol (.40 caliber) with magazine and ammunition, various packaging materials, and a digital weighing scale.
Matta said the drug-bust was undertaken by combined forces of other PNP drug enforcement units and anti-illegal drugs teams from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The P10 million worth of illegal drugs were concealed in different containers. The bulk of the illegal substance was worth P5 million, while the other packages of chemicals contained half of the total amount.
Confiscated items are currently held in the temporary custody of the PNP-DEG, and will be transferred to the PNP Forensic Group for thorough examination.
In a separate operation, at least P128,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized from two high-value targets who were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on Thursday.
Tuguegarao PNP-DEG identified the suspects as Joseph Cambi Parallag, 52, and Jonathan Sebastian Gonzales, 46, both high-value individuals (HVIs).
PNP-DEG operatives also struck in Dagupan City and netted 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000 from a suspect they have arrested identified as Apple Yanto Gañalongo, alias Apple, 34 years old, and a Top 1 HVI.
