PLDT's Kim Kianna Dy (KKD) said she's doing well in her recovery from the knee injury she sustained in the PVL Invitational Conference last year, but stressed that there's still no timetable for her return to action.
It's still day-to-day for the former La Salle standout.
"I'm doing good. Well, with my injury, we're going day-by-day," Dy told reporters on Saturday during PLDT High Speed Hitters' meet and greet at the Mall of Asia Arena where the Men's Volleyball Nations League (VNL) takes place.
"I just don't want to give a specific date when I'm going to play because I don't want to give myself and the supporters false hope."
The 29-year-old Dy said she's hoping to be able to play this Reinforced Conference in July to team up with PLDT import Elena Samoilenko, whom she faced in 2022 when she was still with F2 Logistics.
"Yeah, I met her, she's really nice. I've actually played against her the last time, so ... [we're] preparing for the next league and hopefully I get to join her play."
Like most fans, Dy said she's rooting for Japan in this VNL Manila leg which ends on Sunday.
"I actually am very excited to watch Japan, the next game because you know, they're real life 'Haikyuu' and I grew up watching Haikyuu so I'm very excited to watch them play," shared Dy.
"VNL is such a big event and we (PLDT) are very proud to support the VNL and you know it's high-play here so it's nice watching players from other countries play here."
