THE Department of Energy (DoE) has released a list of companies that were given endorsements and clearances for system impact studies (SIS) for their respective energy projects for the month of May.
The DoE said Friday that it has issued 16 certificates of endorsement (CoEs) for energy projects to the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and gave out six Clearances to Undertake SIS to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP).
Out of the 16 projects issued CoEs, 11 are for amendments while five are new applications.
Being granted a CoE is a sign the ERC is in favor of a person or entity to operate facilities used in the generation of electricity.
The five companies that are new applications are Team Energy Corp.'s Pagbilao coal-fired thermal power plant, Liangan Power Corp.'s hydropower plant, First Ifugao Renewable Energy Corp.'s Likud 2 Hydroelectric Power Project, Suweco Tablas Energy Corp.'s San Agustin, Rombol diesel power plant, and SMGP BESS Power Inc.'s Tagum Battery Energy Storage System.
The DoE also reported that it issued six SIS endorsements to the NGCP and are all new applications.
The SIS evaluates the impact of a proposed interconnection to the reliability of the transmission system.
The six companies given SIS endorsements are Capital One Davao Solar Inc.'s Capital1 Davao solar power plant, Liwanag Energy Corp.'s Burgos 2 solar power plant, the FGen San Isidro Hydro Power project, Haraya Wind Energy Corp.'s Haraya IV-Negros Occidental Offshore Wind Project, AP Renewables Inc.'s Bay Energy Storage System project, and Opus Solar Energy Corp.'s Opus solar project.
