Young JV, Analain and Ronnie shine on the sports stage

By Manila Times - 5 months ago

The highly anticipated and sold-out Star Magic All-Star Games, held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on June 2, showcased, as it does every year, the athletic side of ABS-CBN's Star Magic artists.

Basketball and volleyball, with the chosen sports of the year and the qualifying rounds up to the finals, proved just as exciting as any Kapamilya teleserye.

With Gerald Anderson as the playing coach, Shooting Stars Red delivered a two-year winning streak against Team Its Showtime. Young JV, meanwhile, emerged as the team's most valuable player.

Meanwhile, in volleyball, the Lady Spikers took on the Lady Setters in a three-set match sweep, defending their crown with Analain Salvador winning her fourth MVP award.

On the other hand, Star Magic's Shooting Stars Blue, led by Donny Pangilinan and Ronnie Alonte, won against Cong and Team Payaman's Anbilibabol Basketball Team, with Alonte scoring the coveted MVP award.

The annual Star Magic All-Star Games has become a tradition for ABS-CBN's talent management arm in order to allow artists to showcase their talents and skills beyond the camera while fostering camaraderie and friendship among teammates.

Following the games, Young JV continues to work behind the scenes, making music for some Star Magic artists. Salvador is slated to co-star in an upcoming project with Anji Salvacion, BGYO's Gelo Rivera, and Brent Manalo.

Last but not least, Alonte is set to reunite with real-life partner Loisa Andalio in a movie, with the release date yet to be announced.
