MANILA, Philippines — THE Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) confirmed on Monday that four of its web-based systems were attacked and compromised on Sunday, June 16.

Marina officials and employees were immediately deployed to the agency's Central Office to address the problem and measures to protect the integrity of the systems.

One of the systems attacked was used in processing applications.

The Marina Information Technology team, with the assistance of the Department of Information and Communications Technology-Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, is investigating the incident and accelerating efforts to mitigate the data breach and have systems operational again.
