FIRST Gen Corp. said Thursday that it had assigned a shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Japan's TG Global Trading Co., which will transport approximately 125,000 cubic meters to First Gen Singapore Pte. Ltd next month.
The shipment will be unloaded into the storage tanks of the BW Batangas floating storage and regasification unit currently docked at the First Gen Clean Energy Complex in Batangas City and then used by First Gen's existing gas-fired power plants.
First Gen has a portfolio of four existing gas-fired power plants with a combined capacity of 2,017 megawatts.
FGEN LNG Corp. constructed the interim offshore LNG terminal and executed a five-year Time Charter Party for the charter of BW Batangas, which will provide LNG storage and regasification services as gas reserves in Malampaya continue to go down.
The Lopez-led energy company has conducted several international tenders for LNG cargo with the most recent awarded to Singapore-based CNOOC Gas and Power Trading and Marketing Ltd.
First Gen's share price fell by 6 centavos to P18.52 on Thursday.
