Southwest monsoon to bring rain showers - Pagasa

By Manila Times - 3 months ago

The southwest monsoon or habagat and the easterlies will bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in most areas in the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday.

In particular, Palawan will have overcast skies with scattered downpours and thunderstorms.

The same weather system will also prevail in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro. These areas will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, weather specialist Robert Badrina said.

Meanwhile, easterly winds will affect eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region where overcast skies with scattered downpours and thunderstorms will prevail in the next 24 hours, the Pagasa forecaster said.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms.
