(UPDATE) FILIPINA para archer Agustina Bantiloc on Saturday secured a spot in the Paris 2024 Summer Paralympics.

Bantiloc qualified through the Bipartite Commission Invitation and reached the minimum qualification standards.

She was also part of a mixed pair that secured the Philippines a bronze medal finish at the Compound Open Mixed Category during the Para Archery Olympic Qualifers in Thailand.

Bantiloc is the first Philippine para archer to qualify for the Paralympic Games.

She will join taekwondo jin Allain Ganapin and swimmers Ernie Gawilan and Angel Otom to France later this year. As of Sunday, the Philippine Paralympic team for the upcoming Games in Paris consists of four para athletes.

At the previous Paralympics in Tokyo, the Philippines failed to win any medal. The previous delegation consisted of Ganapin, Gawilan, swimmer Gary Bejino, wheelchair athlete Jerrold Mangliwan, powerlifter Achelle Guion, and discus thrower Jeanette Aceveda.
