FOR the fourth consecutive year, the Quezon City government has received the Commission on Audit's unmodified opinion for exemplary financial management, Mayor Maria Josefina Belmonte said on Thursday.

"We offer this to all Quezon City citizens. This achievement reflects our relentless pursuit of excellence in public service and our commitment to the welfare of our constituents," Belmonte said in a statement.

An unmodified opinion was issued after a government auditor concluded that the financial statements of a particular local government unit were prepared in accordance with the applicable financial reporting framework.

"With this fourth consecutive unmodified opinion, the Quezon City government continues to set a benchmark for effective governance and financial stewardship in the Philippines," read the Independent Auditor's Report.
