BUDGET carrier Cebu Pacific said Thursday that it was expanding its Philippines-Taiwan operations with new flights to Kaohsiung starting Aug. 16, 2024.
"We are very excited to launch direct flights to the wonderful city of Kaohsiung," Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao said.
"With the growing interest among passengers to travel to new destinations, we hope that this launch will encourage them to add another destination to their itinerary or cross off one they've been looking to visit," he added.
Kaohsiung will be the second destination that Cebu Pacific will be servicing in Taiwan, providing passengers more affordable options to visit the country.
Cebu Pacific also flies twice daily to Taipei, the capital city and economic center of Taiwan.
To attract more passengers, it is offering a P1 one-way base fare, exclusive of fees and surcharges, from May 30 to June 13 for travel from August 16 to October 25.
The airline earlier expanded its operations to Thailand with the launch of direct flights to Don Mueang International Airport starting July 16, 2024.
On Thursday, shares of Cebu Pacific operator Cebu Air Inc. dropped by 55 centavos to close P27 apiece.
