By Manila Times - 6 months ago

THE British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) paid a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in London to discuss key priorities in further boosting the bilateral trade between the United Kingdom and the Philippines, noting the £2.8 billion total trade in goods and services.

BCCP Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson presented the British Chamber's key objectives and recent efforts to the Philippine Embassy London Third Secretary and Vice Consul Bea Martinez and Kristine Nobleza of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center London in hopes of further increasing the growing presence of UK companies in the Philippines.

Among its recent engagements, the British Chamber participated in the Bases Conversion and Development Authority Forum titled "Unlocking the Investment Potential of New Clark City" last May 3, 2024. This event aimed to gather insights from business organizations and foreign chambers on the current plans and investment opportunities in New Clark City.

BCDA head of Investment Promotions and Marketing Erwin Kenneth Peralta noted that they were working closely with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office as its transaction adviser, benchmarking best practices in urban resilience and helping finance sustainability projects in the region.
