The Philippine Heritage Society is a devoted group of individuals dedicated to safeguarding the country's cultural legacy.

The Santacruzan is a processional activity that usually takes place across the country in the month May. It honors the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena, also known as Reyna Elena, the mother of Emperor Constantine the Great.

Young women traditionally participate in the procession, representing various biblical and historical figures, such as Reyna Elena, Mary Magdalene, and other biblical queens. The participants are called sagalas.

Padilla and Yuzon joined the procession held in the Intramuros grounds. Padilla walked as Reyna Emperatriz while Yuzon was Reyna Elena. The procession ended in Manila Cathedral where the big group — consisting of 37 sag alas — gathered to pray.
