AIRASIA Philippines said Tuesday it was maintaining an optimistic outlook for the second half of 2024 given Filipinos' increased willingness to spend on travel.
The airline and travel platform Klook recently partnered to promote tourist attractions in Japan and a recent study by the latter was said to have revealed that over 70 percent of Filipinos were willing to spend more on airline tickets, accommodations and activities this year."AirAsia Philippines' commitment to provide the best affordable travel deals... and our high regards for safety and service excellence has always been the blueprint to boost travel excitement," AirAsia communications head Steve Dailisan said."We remain flexible in responding to changing market trends by innovating and providing them with the best deals that fit their travel needs," he added.With a running load factor of over 80 percent as of May 13, AirAsia said it was confident that second-quarter figures would surpass the previous quarter's 92 percent, especially with more Filipinos booking their last-minute summer trips.The carrier's monthly promos and sales were also seen as huge contributors. Up to May 19, the airline is offering a one-way base fare of P1,750 to Perth, Sydney and Melbourne, as well as other destinations for trips up to March 31, 2025.
