Junior Altas seek 8th straight finals appearance in NCAA boys volleyball

Winner of the last six NCAA boys volleyball tournament, Perpetual Help System Dalta guns for its eighth consecutive appearance in the championship round when it battles Mapua in the final four of Season 99 on Thursday, May 9, at Arellano Gym in Pasay City.

The Junior Altas, who placed second at the end of the elims, will have the twice-to beat edge against the Red Robins in the semis.

Top seed Arellano University will also have the same advantage when it faces Lyceum of the Philippines University in the other semis duel.

The Perpetual Help-Mapua duel will be played right after the 9 a.m. encounter between Arellano and Lyceum.

After losing to Emilio Aguinaldo College in the 2014 finals, Perpetual Help collected a string of six championships to raise its total to 11 titles in boys volleyball.

Arellano, Lyceum and San Beda, meanwhile, are looking for their first ever crown in the tournament.

In the girls division, Arellano is also the number one seed and will face Emilio Aguinaldo College in the semifinals.

Perpetual Help and Lyceum will collide in the other final four encounter.

Arellano and Perpetual Help will also have the twice-to-beat edge in the girls semis.
