THE Philippine Normal University (PNU) held the 6th Annual Convention of the National Union of Student Governments (NUSG), elected its new set of officers, and took their oath of office at the PNU HRD Auditorium in Manila on April 12, 2024.
Elected PNU-NUSG officers include Radjs Dylan San Miguel of PNU Manila as chairman, Jerand John Magbanua of PNU Visayas as vice chairman for external relations and advancement, Janre Lachioca of PNU Mindanao as vice chairman for academics, Angelo Oliva of PNU South Luzon as vice chairman for internal affairs and Claire Mae Almodovar of PNU North Luzon as vice chairman for finance and administration.
Outgoing PNU-NUSG chairman and student regent Ralph Original officiated the oath-taking of the new set of officers.
In his capacity as the newly elected PNU-NUSG chairman, San Miguel also serves as the new student regent of the PNU Board of Regents.
After the oathtaking, San Miguel expressed his commitment to serve as the voice of the PNU student body and pledged to advocate for their needs and interests.
Meanwhile, in his convention address, PNU President Bert Tuga reiterated that the newly elected officers and the other student leaders value and make the most of the opportunities and training provided to them through the student council. He challenged the student leaders to represent their constituents effectively and continuously develop their leadership abilities.
