An SIS evaluates the impact of interconnection on the safety and reliability of the transmission system.

Year-to-date, the DoE has approved 39 energy projects for SIS.

It also endorsed 24 energy projects to the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for March.

Certificates of endorsement (COEs) were issued for nine conventional energy projects, two renewable energy projects and 13 energy storage systems.

The DoE's endorsements to the ERC are treated as recommendations for the projects to get permits to operate.

Year-to-date, the DoE has issued 46 COEs for various energy projects.
