SEN. Bong Go reiterated his commitment to supporting social programs as he provided aid to about 700 poor residents in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon.
The senator raised the need to aid the poor in overcoming poverty, joblessness and hunger.
He said that through the efforts of Sen. Imee Marcos, the beneficiaries received financial aid.
Go also distributed grocery packs to the indigent residents.
Go and Marcos were in Bukidnon on April 13 to attend the birthday celebration of Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.
In his speech, Go vowed to fulfil his commitment to service and community development. "From Monday to Sunday, I work for all of you."
Go lauded Marcos for "being a diligent public servant capable of solving problems and offering solutions to the country's challenges."
The chairman of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography also underscored the importance of accessible and affordable health care.
He urged the residents to visit Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in Maramag, where a Malasakit Center is available to help with their medical expenses.
Go authored and sponsored Republic Act 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized the Malasakit Centers program. There are now 162 Malasakit Centers nationwide.
