MANILA, Philippines: Expect another warm and humid weather in most parts of the country within the next 24 hours although isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced in the late afternoon or at night in some areas, including Metro Manila, due to the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Friday.
Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said they have not monitored any weather disturbance forming or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the coming days.
Pagasa defines easterlies as winds coming from the east that pass through the Pacific Ocean and carry warm and humid weather in the country.
It reiterated its reminders to the public to limit time spent outdoors, particularly during late morning until mid-afternoon due to the scorching heat.
"If it couldn't be avoided going outdoors, make sure to bring plenty of water and bring cover like hats and umbrellas as protection," Aurelio said.
Too much sun exposure could lead to heat cramps and heat exhaustion or, worse, heat stroke, the state weather bureau said.
