By Manila Times - 8 months ago

MANILA, Philippines: From her collegiate years in Adamson University and now to the pro league, Creamline's Jema Galanza stamped her mark in the volleyball industry as she is now one of Creamline's veteran gunners.

Now with a solid fan base and with fans who loudly cheers her name in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), Galanza has one simple message to her young admirers who look up to her: "Be patient"

"Be patient with what is coming for you. I know the world moves fast and often you will get jealous of the success of others, but be patient," Galanza said to Manila Times.

The 2019 PVL Open Conference Most Valuable Player (MVP) shared how sometimes there are outside pressures that may affect one's life but it is vital to remember to wait for better things to come.

"Your time will come, you will have your own time and you can rise because you are capable."

In Creamline's victory against Cignal via reverse sweep, 26-28, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21, 16-14, Galanza proved that she is not only limited as an offensive prowess of the Cool Smashers, but she can also be reliable on defense after tallying 13 points, 30 excellent digs and 11 excellent receptions.

The 27-year-old outside hitter also shared how her confidence in playing inside the court was built throughout years of experience and pains.

"My past experiences in life, all of the bad or good experiences was the reason why I have this confidence and of course the people who are in my life right now who support me," Galanza said.

The Cool Smashers eye to protect their lead (6-1) as other PVL teams are also hungry to snatch the top spot and get a comfortable lead to advance to the semifinals.

"Every win is important, the PVL standings of the teams are close. We are happy to have a victory before going to vacation," head coach Sherwin Meneses told the press.

Creamline will next face Petro Gazz on Saturday, April 6, at 6:00 p.m., at the Sta. Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

Meneses also said that the Cool Smashers will have the liberty to spend their time with their loved one this Holy Week break before returning to practice and prepare for their match against the Angels.

"We will not keep our heads about our match with Petro Gazz, we want to enjoy the vacation first to be stress-free, as of now that's it."
