Choco Mucho, PLDT seek win number 5

By Manila Times - 6 months ago

CHOCO Mucho and PLDT aim to join defending champion Creamline at the top of the standings when they face separate opponents today in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.

The Flying Titans take on the Akari Chargers at 6 p.m. and the High Speed Hitters battle the Farm Fresh Foxies at 4 p.m.

Strong Group Athletics and Galeries Tower clash in the 2 p.m. opening game.

Choco Mucho, PLDT and idle Cignal HD Spikers are tied for third place with identical 4-1 records.

Creamline, meanwhile, leads the league with a 5-1 card followed by Petro Gazz at 4-2.

A win by the Flying Titans and the High Speed Hitters today would forge a three-way logjam on top with the Cool Smashers.

Choco Mucho started the tournament by winning its first four games but bowed to PLDT on Tuesday after a grueling five-set battle, 20-25, 12-25, 25-23, 25-22, 13-15.

Sisi Rondina's fiery 25-point outing helped the Flying Titans to force a decider as PLDT's own high-leaper Savannah Davison, who scored 21 points, and Erika Santos, who added 14 points, conspired to give a dent to Choco Mucho's erstwhile immaculate record.
