Notorious carnapper in Rizal arrested

CAMP BGEN VICENTE LIM, Calamba City: The Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A under the supervision of Col. Rommel Estolano reported the arrest of a notorious female carnapper in Morong, Rizal.

The suspect was identified as Michelle Santo, a resident of Sitio Namay in Barangay San Juan in Morong, who was arrested during simultaneous anti-carnapping operations on March 1.

The operation was carried out at about 12:05 p.m. at Tomas Claudio St, Barangay San Pedro, Morong by personnel from various law enforcement agencies, including the Provincial Highway Patrol Team (PHPT)-Rizal led by EMSgt. Darwin Dionisio under the direct supervision of provincial officer Cpt. Mark Almedilla, the Morong Police Station Warrant Section, and the Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission.

Santo was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of carnapping in violation of Republic Act 10883 issued on Jan. 24, 2024, by Presiding Judge Sheila Marie Ignacio, Regional Trial Court Branch 80 Morong, Rizal.

The recommended bail for her temporary liberty was pegged at P300,000.

The accused is presently under the custody of PHPT-Rizal and will be turned over to the Morong Municipal Police Station jail.
