ILOILO CITY: The Police Regional Office 6 made a significant blow to illegal drug operations following the arrest of two high-value drug pushers and the confiscation of shabu with an estimated value of P10 million in this city on Thursday.

The seizure of about 1,500 grams of shabu during a noontime buy-bust at Duran St., Barangay Sto. Rosario was a result of coordinated efforts of various law enforcement agencies, led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6.

The primary target of the operation was Alexander Pada, 31, of Barangay Rizal Estanzuela, City Proper.

Pada had been arrested previously in a buy-bust by the police but managed to secure his release through plea bargaining.

The other suspect arrested during the operation was Ceasar Evangelista of Zone 8, Barangay Calumpang, Molo.

RPDEU 6 team leader Glen Soliman said the seized contraband included two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu, a pack of green-coated aluminum foil, ten heat-sealed sachets, and four knot-tied sachets also containing shabu.

Soliman added that they also confiscated a Yamaha Mio motorcycle which was utilized by the two suspects for the delivery of illegal drugs.

The arrested individuals are now in the custody of Iloilo City Police Station 1.
