Fair weather with occasional rains in PH – Pagasa

By Manila Times - 6 months ago

MANILA, Philippines: Fair weather with chances of cloudy skies, scattered light rains, and thunderstorms are expected within the next 24 hours, the weather agency said Saturday.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the northeast monsoon or "amihan" is affecting North and Central Luzon, bringing colder winds with light rains.

However, Pagasa said that amihan is expected to slightly weaken by Tuesday, which means hot and humid weather is likely in these same areas.

"Based on our satellite, no low pressure area is being monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, which may affect the country for the next few days," Pagasa weather specialist Daniel James Villamil said.

Meanwhile, the easterlies, or the hot wind coming from the Pacific Ocean is affecting eastern Visayas and Mindanao.

Pagasa said the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have generally fair weather.

No gale warning is being issued but fishers are advised to take precautionary measures as they may experience rough to moderate waves at sea.
