Terrence Romeo cleared to play

By Manila Times - 7 months ago

THREE-TIME PBA scoring champion Terrence Romeo is poised to see action in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup now that he has fully recovered from an ankle injury that prevented him from contributing in San Miguel Beer's recent Commissioner's Cup championship run.

Romeo, who turns 32 this month, played the first two games of the title series the Beermen won over the Magnolia Hotshots 4-2 before being shut down completely by the medical team due to his ankle problem.

San Miguel team physiotherapist Edward Bacason said the break since the close of the Finals gave the three-time PBA champion ample time to heal, recover and undergo therapy.

Romeo has since joined the Beermen's practice as they prepare for the All-Filipino conference.

"He's (Romeo) good already. Actually he's been practicing with us for four days already," Bacason told The Manila Times.

San Miguel will make its Philippine Cup debut on March 15 against Rain or Shine.

Romeo has been in and out of the San Miguel roster during the import-spiced conference due to injuries.

The fifth pick overall in the 2013 PBA Draft missed the entire best-of-five semifinals series against Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, before playing for the first two games of the best-of-seven title series versus the Hotshots.

Romeo averaged decent numbers of 12.8 points, 3.7 assists and 1.5 rebounds in 10 games the previous conference.
