BUDGET carrier Cebu Pacific has acquired a second brand-new A330neo aircraft, the first of an expected 12 Airbus NEO deliveries this year.
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) was used on the delivery flight from Toulouse, France to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, which Cebu Pacific Chief Strategy Officer Alex Reyes said was "consistent with our commitment" to incorporate the environment-friendly fuel in its operations.
"Using SAF is one of the steps we are taking towards reducing carbon emissions and advance our sustainability agenda in the aviation industry," he added.
Last February 9, Cebu Pacific also welcomed its first aircraft of the year, an A320ceo.
The airline currently operates one of the youngest fleets in the world and has a diversified mix of nine Airbus 330s, 35 Airbus 320s, 20 Airbus 321s, and 14 ATR turboprop aircraft.
The airline aims to transition to an all-NEO fleet by 2028.
Cebu Air Inc., operating as Cebu Pacific, saw its share price fall by 35 centavos to P32.65 on Tuesday.
